Quarry Top Sunset
Really pleased with the outcome of this piece.
Glass is made up of different metals and minerals to make its various colours. Blues have copper, pinks and reds have lead and yellows have sulphur. Not all of these metals and minerals are compatible with each other and can cause a reaction in the glass. The scarlet and amber colours used to make the sunset in this piece have this incompatibility problem but luckily using a barrier of clear glass to prevent contamination of the 2 colours I’ve managed to avoid the glass turning a yucky brown colour!
