These pieces are quite different from my other work. Firstly the outcomes are completely unpredictable due to bicarbonate of soda added to glass enamels to make the bubbles. Bicarb releases carbon dioxide when heated, which then gets trapped between a sandwich of glass.
Secondly I use float glass for these pieces and in most cases it is recycled glass.
Thirdly, colour is in the form of enamel powders which give a really vibrant result.
